  • Eastbrook Avenue – Street Lighting Fixed

A few weeks ago, residents in Eastbrook Avenue raised concerns that the street lights were not working. Labour councillors took the issue seriously and made sure it was followed up with Barking & Dagenham Council.

After investigating, the council found it was not just a simple bulb issue—the lantern units needed replacing. The council has now replaced the lanterns, and the street lights are working again.

This is a simple but important improvement that makes the road safer for everyone, especially in the evenings. Once again, this shows that Labour listens to residents and delivers real action for our community.

Thanks again to our Eastbrook and Rush Green team – Councillor Princess Bright, Tony Ramsay, and Amimul Ahsan Tanim.

  • Apply for a Postal Vote

    Apply for a Postal Vote

Labour volunteer teams have been out across the ward extensively over the last few week listening to residents. A number of residents have asked about applying for postal votes for the elections in May.

Voting by post is the safest and easiest way to make sure your vote counts. The quickest and easiest way setup postal voting is by applying online via the Government’s website here.

You can also download, print out and fill in a paper postal vote application form. This should then be sent to your local Electoral Registration Office.

Electoral Registration Officer, Ground Floor North, Town Hall, Barking, 1 Town Square, IG11 7LU

Your Labour Community Team can help with lots of things, but unfortunately we can’t help you complete or return these forms. Do ask a friend or neighbour if you need help.

  • Lighting Fixed

The Street lighting on Dagenham Road has now been fixed. Thank you so much to all the residents who reported it and, most importantly, for your patience while this was resolved

I know it hasn’t been an easy wait. Balancing my role as your ward councillor alongside being Mayor and First Citizen of the Borough this municipal year hasn’t always been straightforward, but please know I am trying my very best and remain fully committed to Eastbrook and Rushgreen.

My emails are always open, and I’m genuinely grateful to residents who continue to trust me with their casework. You keep reaching out, and I’ll keep pushing to get things turned around as quickly as possible, that’s always been my approach and I won’t change that.

    Councillor Princess Bright

  • White Ribbon Strategy

    White Ribbon Strategy

We are proud to support the White Ribbon Strategy to prevent violence against women and girls.

On November 25th, Eastbrook and Rush Green Ward Councillor Princess Bright and prospective candidate Aminul Tanim attended Barking and Dagenham College to support the campaign. The message is clear: Together, we can prevent violence against women and girls.

Community Litter Pick – Hardie Road

We joined our Eastbrook & Rush Green Labour Party community litter pick at Hardie Road, Dagenham. It was great to meet local residents, chat about our area, and work together to keep our streets clean and welcoming.

Every small effort makes a big difference! Thank you to everyone who came along and took part — your community spirit truly shines.
